Solent Connect – Business Intelligence

Overview

Solent Connect is a collaborative initiative that brings together organisations providing business support across the Solent region. Through monthly intelligence gathering meetings, participants share insights on business activities, emerging trends, and key challenges based on their interactions with local businesses. This collective information is vital in informing government policy and ensuring that the voices of the business community are heard.

Our Purpose

Solent Connect has a mission to gather and provide real-time business intelligence for The Department of Business and Trade and the Cities and Local Growth Unit Teams to help shape regional and national government policies. By sharing business activity data and insights, the aim is to: 

Support Local Business Growth

Inform Government Policy

Collaborate Across Sectors

Identify emerging opportunities and challenges faced by businesses in the Solent region 

Ensure the voice of the Solent business community is included in policy decisions.

Bring together key players in business support, fostering collaboration for more effective business development.

Who is Solent Connect?

Solent Connect is made up of a wide range of business support organisations, including: 

• Chambers of Commerce 

• Universities and Research Institutions 

• Business networks and associations 

• Financial institutions 

• Private and public sector organisations offering business advice 

• Local authorities 

These organisations meet monthly to share updates on business activities, challenges, and opportunities based on their ongoing engagements with businesses across the Solent.
